Dr. Gosar Blasts Congressperson Kirkpatrick for Abortion, Health Care Vote

Dr. Paul Gosar Says Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick Walked Out on her Constituents Again by Supporting Federal Funds for Abortion, Government Health Care Bill.

FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA.  NOVEMBER 10, 2009.  She infamously walked out on her constituents in Holbrook. And now she has done it in Washington, D.C.

Besides the Nancy Pelosi health care bill, Ann Kirkpatrick also voted Sunday against the Stupak Amendment prohibiting federal funds for abortions. “Whether you are pro-life or pro-choice, taxpayers should not have to bear the burden of funding abortions,” said Dr. Paul Gosar. To date, Gosar has amassed the most Republican and fundraising support in his effort to replace the incumbent Kirkpatrick.

“Just like she did in Holbrook last August, Ann Kirkpatrick has walked out on people all across our district. She has walked out on seniors with her vote to cut billions from Medicare and to eliminate Medicare Advantage. She has walked out on children by her vote to impose mountains of new debt that mortgages their future. She has walked out on every small business in our district by voting to force government mandates that will create crushing taxes and spending on their already strained budgets. She has walked out on every unemployed person by imposing new spending and taxes that will cripple job creation. She has walked out on our people yet again with this cynical vote which puts the will of Nancy Pelosi before the people of Arizona,” said Gosar.

“Arizonans want reform, less government and lower costs, not the monstrosity this bill has become,” Gosar said. 

The Flagstaff resident and Arizona’s former “Dentist of the Year” recently announced his candidacy and has already raised many times more money than all other Republican candidates combined.

The 50-year old husband, father of two, bow hunter and sports enthusiast has been traveling all over Congressional District One for the past several months, emphasizing that Congress needs more people from the real world like himself, not the lawyers, lobbyists and politicians currently embodied by Kirkpatrick and the other GOP candidates in the field.

The pro-life, pro-Second Amendment candidate has also been emphasizing spending restraint and more openness and ethics reform for Congress.
