Top GOP Contender to Congressperson Kirkpatrick Demands

Dr. Paul Gosar to Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick:  Get Off the Fence & Oppose the Massive Health Care Bill.

FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA.  FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2009. While more and more rural Republicans are looking to Dr. Paul Gosar to clean up the House the incumbent congressperson, Ann Kirkpatrick, can’t seem to get off the fence when it comes to a massive expansion of and tax increase for the nation’s health care.

“Arizonans want reform, less government and lower costs not the monstrosity this bill has become,” said Dr. Paul Gosar.  The Flagstaff resident and Arizona’s former “Dentist of the Year” recently announced his candidacy and has already raised many times more money than all other Republican candidates combined.

"After infamously running out on constituents in Holbrook who wanted to talk health care, it’s time for her to vote how the district wants and needs her to: NO,” Gosar said. In addition to voting no, Dr. Gosar challenges Representative Kirkpatrick to take a leadership role to lobby other members of Congress to vote no as well.

Gosar also noted that Kirkpatrick is not a part of the “Blue Dog” Democrats, a group of the more conservative Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives.  Dr. Gosar also notes that Arizona's Congressional District 1 is filled with small businesses and middle class taxpayers that would see their taxes increase and their health insurance premiums increase.  This contrary to what the constituents want. Gosar wants less Government not more Government.

The 50-year old husband, father of two, bow hunter and sports enthusiast has been traveling all over Congressional District One for the past several months emphasizing that Congress needs more people from the real world like himself, not the lawyers, lobbyists and politicians currently embodied by Kirkpatrick and the other GOP candidates in the field.

The pro-life, pro-Second Amendment candidate has also been emphasizing spending restraint and more openness and ethics reform for Congress.
